Get your thoughts on financial wellbeing heard!

The Government Veterans’ Strategy has the goal of making the UK ‘the best place in the world to be a veteran by 2028.’ This is a big ambition and there is a long way to go.

The latest Veteran’s Strategy Action Plan 2022-24, outlines the steps the Government sees as key for delivering a step-change in support for veterans and their families.  It focusses on health and wellbeing, but stops short of acknowledging how vital financial wellbeing is to both physical and mental health.

At Trinity we believe that financial wellbeing is a key enabler.  If Armed Forces personnel were better equipped to manage their financial affairs throughout their service, they will be better prepared for civilian life.  It is too vital a life-skill to be left as a minor part of the Transition process.

We will shine a spotlight on financial welfare so that members of the military community can be more financially self-supporting and resilientWe will do this by gathering evidence via this simple survey of UK Veterans from which we will collate our findings and submit a report to the Ministry of Defence and Office of Veterans Affairs. This can then inform their work to develop a package of life skills training that will enhance veterans’ financial wellbeing and reduce the number that require assistance and benevolence in the future.
