Product Overview
Military life insurance is designed for those in the UK Armed Forces, helping them to protect those who matter if they are no longer able to.
Trinity offers affordable Armed Forces Life insurance that will support your loved ones, and make life financially easier, with specialist cover available for those serving within the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Marines; and Royal Air Force.
While the Armed Forces Compensation scheme would offer a lump sum in the event of injury whilst on duty, and the Armed Forces Pension scheme would pay a benefit in the event of death whilst on or off duty, both are unlikely to provide enough cover for your family.
Having personally arranged life and critical illness cover gives you peace of mind that an outstanding mortgage or other financial commitments would be covered if the worst was to happen.
Who is this suitable for?
This Military Life Insurance is Suitable for Regulars and Reservists serving in the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces: The Royal Navy, Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force.
Do I need life insurance?
Life insurance is probably the most important form of protection for armed forces personnel, by giving financial security to you and your loved ones should anything happen.
With life insurance, you have the flexibility to have the insurance for a set amount that would meet their needs, ensuring for example that they were covered until an outstanding mortgage was paid off.
Choosing the right military life insurance protection
Through our Direct Life partner, you are able to protect your family in the event of your death, and protect yourself if you were to suffer a critical or serious illness. Having life insurance in place gives you peace of mind that your loved ones are protected and looked after financially should the worst happen.
What types are available?
Through our partnership, Trinity is able to offer two types of life insurance.
You can insure yourself on a level-term basis (insuring yourself for a guaranteed sum of money) or on a decreasing basis (to cover a debt such as a repayment mortgage) based on your own personal circumstances and protection needs.
Deciding on the amount of cover you need
When thinking about your life insurance policy and the protection you need, it is useful to think about all your financial commitments including your mortgage, any dependents you support financially and any debts or outstanding loans. You might also like to consider if you would wish to leave a further sum to family in the event of your death.
How much does life insurance cost?
For those not scheduled to go to an active theatre of operations in the near future our life insurance is competitively priced and Comparable in cost to a civilian life insurance policy.
What's more If you are posted to an area of conflict at a later date you can rest assured that you have specialist cover in place, with no change to the premium you pay.
Critical illness cover
Critical illness can be added to your policy and will provide financial support on diagnosis of a critical or serious illness such as cancer, kidney failure, strokes or heart attacks. This gives additional financial security if you are unable to work.
Some of the insurers offer the option to include additional cover. This can include covering fractures, increasing the number of critical illnesses, covering dependents (including covering dependents for serious illness) and hospital benefits.
